Metropole (2004-2008) |
Shadows of the state (2015-2018) |
Lewis bush represents the growth of London by capturing the glittering new high rises in the city which contrasts with how London was once known as metropole or ‘mother city’ at the heart of a vast empire stretching across a quarter of the planet. He records the constructed and occupied blocks in the city .He uses an interesting technique of double exposure to layer the buildings over each other, throughout the book it becomes very disorientating to look at it as the perspective and scale differentiates between the pages. However these are also combined with appropriated, repurposed photographs taken from the billboards and advertising material .

Lewis Bush highlights how important the affect of the Cold War has been in our world today and how it can still be heard.Using Number stations of coded messages are still yet to be discovered. He uses research and satellite images to investigate the signals located over the world. From Russia to Liberia, Cyprus to South Korea which then have been mapped using high resolution satellite imagery
