Takashi is a Japanese artist born in 1962 and studied photography at Nihon university college of Art and continued his practice about representing Japanese culture through his contemporary photography
This book was designed In order to show various forms of photographing and questioning in the ways we see photography.Event participants were asked to select an original print by Takashi Homma. The photographer then cut the print into strips of varying shape. The fragments were handed to the participants, who then freely rearranged the fragments into new configurations. The completed recompositions were stamped by the photographer and then photographed. A selection of the reconstructed photographs were selected for this volume.
In class we carried out an very similar experiment in which we were given a selection of random images to choose from and then cut the images using scalpels into any shape and then were given to another class mate to rearrange and then with the new images constructed they were then photographed
